I had a consultation with an orthodontist that feels braces won't correct my profile. He said braces could improve my bite by pushing my front teeth in front of my bottom teeth (with the possible use of reverse headgear) but he doesn't feel it will affect my profile. He offered veneers but I'm not interested in that. Was really hoping braces would work. What are my options?

It sounds as if you are on some sort of insurance plan that dictates who gets braces. If you are paying cash for your braces there is no acceptance or denial process. I would guess your insurance is the problem.
Not wearing your retainers has allowed your teeth to shift. Wearing the retainers again may move them back into the ideal position or it may not. I suggest visiting your orthodontist to determine the best course of action.
