When I smile, a decent part of my smile is gummy. My teeth are definitely on the shorter side (photo 1). Questions: 1. Could my smile look like the photoshopped picture of my smile (photo 2) thanks to a gingivectomy all the way to my 2nd premolars? 2. What type of procedure/technique would be best suited for my case? Thank you. (Don’t be afraid to be technical with the answers.)

The reason your gums "fall back down" is because the bone under your gums has not been raised up. You can not arbitrarily cut gums without paying attention to the underlying bone.
Good luck!
Your gums do not appear to be receding but your gum levels are at differing levels due to your crooked teeth. Aligning your teeth will could resolve most of your varying gum levels.
Good luck!
Hello, the appearance of a gummy smile can be treated with a gum lift. Based on the picture, you are a good candidate for this procedure. This is my personal opinion and not a diagnosis or medical advice.
