Juvederm dissolved after 3 months. Why is this happening? Are there any other options?

I used Radiesse, a semipermanent filler, for many years until the introduction of robust, longer-lasting HA fillers several years back. The original advantage of Radiesse was that its results could be durable for up about a 1.5 years. While this was not always the case, it was certainly longer-lasting than other fillers at the time. Its major disadvantage was that it could not be dissolved if the results were undesirable or if there was an adverse reaction. However, I stopped injecting Radiesse with the introduction of robust HA fillers that were yielding results with comparable durations of about 1.5 years in certain areas and could be easily dissolved with the natural enzyme hyaluronidase. While I can't be sure from the information provided, it is possible that an insufficient amount of Radiesse was injected and could account for the very short duration of effects. Plain, ordinary Juvederm is best reserved for treating fine lines and wrinkles, but would be a poor choice for areas requiring a more robust filler, such as the jawline subject to movement, or for the chin to provide sufficient and persistent projection. You would be wise going forward to consult an experienced, board certified cosmetic dermatologist filler injector. Hope this helps.
