Hello,Thank you for your question. Unfortunately there is no standardization for bra sizing and this varies with manufacturers. It will be impossible to accurately predict your post op bra size. I recommend that you book a consultation and talk with your Plastic Surgeon about your goals and expectations. Your Plastic Surgeon will examine you and then provide a range of implant options based on your measurements and preferred look. If possible, try on sizers in office. My patients find this is a great way to get a feel for the implant sizes. All the best
I appreciate your question. The size of implant best for you is dictated by yourchest wall measurements. Once we determine that we can choose the profilebased on what you want or need to achieve. If you are seeking a natural look, then the diameter of the implantshould be equal to or, more ideally, smaller than the width of your breast. Thebreast width is a measurement of how wide your breast is at the base, whichshould be measured at the level of the nipple. Choosing an implant that issmaller in diameter than your breast width will avoid the "sidebreast" fullness that is often associated with a more artificialappearance. Other than that, you should choose the implant based onvolume, not on the dimensions of the implant. Silicone will give you a fullness at thetop (upper pole fullness).Silicone implants come pre-filled with asilicone gel and are the softest implant available. They feel more natural, which makes them a good option for women with less natural breast tissue; butthey require a larger incision. It may be more difficult to realize if thistype of implant has ruptured, so it is important to monitor them with annualfollow-up visits. Additionally, because this implant contains a more liquid silicone(less cross-linked), if this implant should rupture, it will leak only into thescar capsule formed around the implant but may cause some discomfort or implantdistortion.Anatomic gummy bear implants might be agood choice to give you volume. These highly-sought-after, anatomicimplants offer a look that more closely resembles the natural silhouette of abreast, and, therefore, are a very attractive option for individuals seeking anatural-looking, aesthetic primary breast augmentation. Additionally, theseimplants are an especially excellent option for patients undergoing restorativeor corrective breast surgery because they provide more stability, shape, andreduced incidence of capsular contracture. Compared to other types of siliconegel implants, the silicone in the cohesive gel implant is more cross-linked;therefore, should the implant shell “rupture,” it maintains its shape andsilicone does not leak.During your breast augmentationconsultation, you should feel the different types of implants available, andtry on various implant sizers in front of a mirror to help you to get an ideaof how you will look following the surgery. You should also bring pictures ofthe look you would like to achieve, as well as a favorite top to wear whentrying on implant sizers. The best way to assess and give trueadvice would be an in-person exam. Please see a board-certified plasticsurgeon that specializes in aesthetic and restorative breast surgery.Best of luck!Dr. Schwartz
Hi. Every bra cup is different and it is very difficult to say without photos and a base width however generally speaking given your height and frame and if you are a true 32 B cup then a 425 cc implant will be a large implant for you and will probably given you at least a full D cup. You may even be bigger. Regards
There is not a direct correlation between breast implant size and cup size as the cup size varies greatly among companies and even within the same company. Moreover, cup size can vary based on who is performing the measurement. The size of the implants are based on a combination of a patient's goals and objectives and her anatomy. In order to provide a natural looking augmentation, the surgeon needs to evaluate many factors including soft tissue coverage, skin laxity, chest wall width, breast imprint width, the shape of the breasts and relative level of constriction to ensure that the breast implants are appropriate for your body.
I NEVER promise/discuss bra sizes as bras fit differently depending on make, style, manufacturer, time of the month, weight gain, weight loss etc. We have no control over those. Classically, Victoria's Secret bras fit differently then traditional retailers. I use photos to communicate since that is how patients judge their results (looking in a mirror) and it decreases communication errors. Having said all that, without photos it is impossible to know in you. If you are what I refer to as a "true B" with some meaningful and supportive breast tissue, it may well be enough. If you are an "empty B" with deflated breasts then it may well not be.Have good communication with your surgeon and they will advise you.
Thank you for the question. There is no accurate/reliable/predictable correlation between size/profile breast implant utilized and cup size achieved. Therefore, online consultants will not be able to provide you with specific enough advice to be truly helpful. Ultimately, careful communication of your goals (in my practice I prefer the use of goal pictures, direct examination/communication in front of a full-length mirror, and computer imaging) will be critical. Generally speaking, the best online advice I can give to ladies who are considering breast augmentation surgery ( regarding breast implant size/profile selection) is:1. Concentrate on choosing your plastic surgeon carefully. Concentrate on appropriate training, certification, and the ability of the plastic surgeon to achieve the results you are looking for. Ask to see lots of examples of his/her work.2. Have a full discussion and communication regarding your desired goals with your plastic surgeon. This communication will be critical in determining breast implant size/type/profile will most likely help achieve your goals. In my practice, the use of photographs of “goal” pictures (and breasts that are too big or too small) is very helpful. For example, I have found that the use of know words such as “natural” or "C or D cup” etc means different things to different people and therefore prove unhelpful. Also, as you know, cup size varies depending on him who makes the bra; therefore, discussing desired cup size may also be inaccurate. Again, the use of computer imaging has been very helpful during the communication process, in our practice.3. Once you feel you have communicated your goals clearly, allow your plastic surgeon to use his/her years of experience/judgment to choose the breast implant size/profile that will best meet your goals. Again, in my practice, this decision is usually made during surgery, after the use of temporary intraoperative sizers.I hope this (and the attached link, dedicated to breast augmentation surgery concerns) helps. Best wishes for an outcome that you will be very pleased with.
Hello,Thank you for your photos. It appears to me that the photographs with a bra show a larger space in the lower pole/ nipple-IMF. The braless photos do not appear to show nipples sitting high on the mound or the same large nipple-IMF measurement. I wonder if proper, professional bra fitting...
Hello, I would recommend speaking to your plastic surgeon about bra use after surgery. In my practice the recommendations depend on each person since body types and implant sizes can vary so much. Most patients do not wear a bra to sleep once they have fully healed, and they will use...
