I had PRK in both eyes. I have to drive over an hour to get it removed. I am worried about going alone because I have read that you vision decreases afterwards.

The healing time after PRK can vary. Your symptoms sound like you are experiencing dry eyes which is normal to have after PRK. I would recommend using artificial tears every 2-4 hours at least for the first month. I would also recommend seeing your doctor.
There are a lot of issues that can delay visual recovery. Dryness (not very likely), haze (more likely), remnant or variable prescription (likely) are a few. The do usually get better and completely resolve by the year anniversary of the surgery.
