Is Zerona a One-time Treatment or is It a Series?

The effects of Zerona on the fat cells lasts for about 72 hours. The low level laser is used for non-invasive body contouring instead of liposuction or Smartlipo. Zerona makes the fat cell membrane "leaky" and fat leaks out of the cells.

This change lasts for about 72 hours after the treatment. So we treat every 2nd or 3rd day to keep the fat cells in this state for maximum fat reduction. Usually, the treatment time is two weeks but I have had many patients take more treatments for more improvement.

Typical Zerona treatment consists of a series of  six treatments total over a two week period of time. Each treament  takes about 40 minutes and there is no discomfort (you can talk on the phone or read a magazine while it is being done).

Zerona treatments are performed with 6 treatments in a period of 2 weeks.  Each session takes approximately 40 minutes.  In addition to the treatments, exercise, diet and supplements are recommended.  No pain is involved with the treatments.

The recommended treatment regimen for Zerona is a series of treatments occuring every other day.  The minimum number of treatments recommended is 6, but the patients who do respond are often most satisified after 9-12 treatments.

The recommendation is for six 40 minute treatments spread out over a two week period. This is based upon the science of this low level laser that makes the fat cell more porous so that the fat leaks out. My patients drink 8 glasses of water each day, take a vitamin supplement, walk for 30 minutes every other day and some wear an elastic garment around their waist. We are seeing 4-6 inch loss of in the waist,hips and thighs within this two week period.
