I'm a 24 years female. I'm wondering is it possible to fix the gap between my teeth? How much would it cost and how long will it take? I have basic dental insurance. How do people manage if they move to a different state during the treatment period, can they consult local dentist or do they need to visit the same dentist? How often do I need to go to the dentist during the treatment? May I know is the gap fixable based on the images attached? Your answers are highly appreciated. Please suggest.
Answer: Upper anterior gap Hi, SRK22! Thanks for your question and photos. First, YES!, it is possible to fix the gap between your teeth. The cost of the total treatment will depend on how long you're in treatment. You would need a comprehensive exam to evaluate that. Most orthodontic specialists provide complimentary exams. Your insurance may or may not cover orthodontic treatment as it is a separate benefit from the general dental part. You can call your insurance provider or have the office that does your exam call to verify the insurance coverage. If you're planning on moving for sure within the next year, Invisalign might be the best option for you. But, I would recommend staying with the same provider for the entire treatment. One of the reasons Invisalign is a great option is appointments can be spread out longer than with traditional braces, so you have fewer visits. Good luck on getting the smile you've always wanted!

Answer: You should seek a consultation for this You should visit a dentist for a consultation as you have not only the upper gap but some lower space and also some lower crowding. A consultation will allow the dentist to assess your needs accurately as the photos are not enough to make a determination. I would recommend orthodontic treatment first as this can usually treat crowding and spacing issues without having to prepare away tooth structure like veneers or crowns usually do. Bonding is a reversible technique that may help on a temporary basis and could be done in a single appointment. You should not begin any orthodontic treatment until you are settled in your new location otherwise it will complicate things.
