LASIK after Smile Relex due to regression. Is this safe or high risk?

I had smile Relex 3yrs ago but in the past 8 mnts my eyesight has regressed quite rapid & now have to wear glasses for driving for general short sightedness.I returned to my opthalmologist who said that he can perform Lasik on my right eye to correct again& this will hopefully solve issue. is this a safe procedure to do following on from smile Relex&is it a good idea to do it now or should I wait until my prescription stabalises as I dont want my eyesight to further regress in another 3yrs?

It is never a good idea to have refractive surgery if your prescription is not stable. Your surgeon should make sure that the prescription is consistent prior to providing a touch up. LASIK has been safely performed after SMILE in a study with 100 eyes with good visual outcomes. Another option you can consider is PRK. In this procedure, the surface of the corneal is reshaped. However, the healing will be slightly longer than LASIK and SMILE.

The rapidity of the vision change means you need to find the cause before treating it.They need to dilate your eye and make sure you dont' have a cataract.They need a topography or other test to make sure your cornea isn't progressively getting thinner or steeper unexpectedly.
