I have lines going from outside of my nostrils to the outside of my mouth making me look like a monkey. How can I fix? (photo)

I got my braces off about 6 months ago which fixed a bad overbite due to tongue thrusting with help from my orthodontist I was able to fix my tongue thrust. As you can see in the pictures I have these white lines which I am insecure about. I feel as if my gums are also swollen above my front teeth. Would extractions fix this ? Please help

Hello, these lines has nothing to do with tongue thrusting or braces.  these are your nasolabial folds, and some people have pronounced folds.  Best way to correct these is to find a great dermatologist that can fill them up with fillers and decrease the folds for you.  As far as the swollen gums, you need to see a dentist and they have to determine why your gums are swollen.  you could just need a simple cleaning.  But an x ray is necessary to see cause of swelling.  good luck.

The lines are the nasolabial folds and are there due to the facial muscle pattern and the height of the cheekbones.The best way to lessen the depths of those lines is by the way of Juvederm facial filler. The effect can last up to 2 years and those folds can virtually disappear.It takes about 30 mins to anaesthetise the skin and inject the filler.
