Invisalign tray is bigger than my teeth. is this normal?

I've been wearing Invisalign for one year now...starting these past two months my trays have become very visible on my teeth because they are actually bigger than my teeth...on some of the teeth only..three or four it is very visible that the size of the teeth is smaller than the actual tray...I have asked my orthodontist about it and he said that this is normal as according to him the difference comes from extra material added to push the teeth upwards..

Ordinarily, I would suggest asking your dentist for a mid-course correction, but being that you have already discussed this with him and he said that it was normal, I would recommend trusting that he is giving you sound advice.  Any dentist can tell you something different, but if your treatment does not end up correctly, your orthodontist is the one that will have the obligation to make it right, not others. The trays will show as extra long on teeth which are being moved out i.e. towards tray and not being pushed or just within existing position. This is to allow that extra space where teeth are going to move with each aligner.
