First of all I am sorry that you have had an undesirable result with a very good product.  It would have been helpful to have shown your teeth and face up to your nose so that much of the guesswork could be eliminated.  Going on what you have said, however, it is very likely that your original problem stemmed from a narrow upper jaw.  Studies have shown and my experience having treated thousands of cases, that almost all orthodontic problems (crowding of teeth and overbites) come from underdevelopment of the upper jaw.  The expansion of your upper jaw prior to the aligners would likely have given the room to retract your front teeth and broaden your smile giving you a beautiful full smile without extraction of permanent teeth.  Expansion with aligners can improve a narrow upper jaw, but if more needs to be done, then Slow Palatal Expansion (SPE) prior to Invisalign can give the full beautiful smile at any age, avoiding surgery and extractions.  I hope this is helpful to at least understand why you have not achieved the result you desire.
