Can permanent retainers cause an overbite after braces? (photos)

I had upper braces for 3 years, then both braces for 2 years. I wear permanent retainer now, I notice that I have a little bit overbite on 4 of upper front tooth. Is it possible because of the permanent retainer placement mistake?, It doesn't look like this after the 3 years upper braces only treatment and when I use braces. Is there anything I can do to make it straight again without having another braces treatment?

After seeing your photos below are positive findings: 1. upper and lower arch not symmetric. 2. upper left central incisor tip is not perfect. 3. gummy smile - less crown height. ideal option in your case is first go for crown lengthening process and after that aligner to align teeth.

Yes, you can for alignment. In such cases, the only issue is, it will result in increased/more overjet. But with IPR, it's possible to reduce and can achieve close to the normal range. Another issue will be upper to lower midline, it will not match. but this is not visible, so no need to worry...
