It is easy to identify if a patient has had PRK if a topography scan is taken of the eye. However, it is not easily identified just by looking at the eye with a slit lamp microscope.
PRK surgery can be detected by use of topography machines which are common in eye doctor's offices. It cannot be detected by looking at the eyes, even with a microscope.
