Can I switch to minoxidil 2% after using 5% ?

Question

I am 22 years old male.I am using minoxidil and finasteride for about 2 years .now I am pretty happy with the results . so now I am thinking if I switch to minoxidil 2% now what will happen? As minoxidil 5% is costly here . it will reduce my cost. So , will it maintain my hair ?or will start my hair fall again ? What will happen to my hair after switching to minoxidil 2%? Minoxidil 5% is very costly out here .what should I do ? I will be obliged If u provide any suggestions ..thank you sir..

In my opinion , it is impossible to predict whether you will have any decreased effectiveness due to a change in your minoxidil concentration. Minoxidil 2% was used for years , however the male concentration of 5% was always more effective. I would suggest adding a microneedle roller to the 2% to increase absorption. Hope this helps. Thank you for posting your question. Of course you can switch minoxidil strengths at any time, of course 5% being recommended for men. It is better to decrease the strength vs not using any, so it is still to your advantage. Hope this helps.

Studies in the mid 90s showed that 5 % minoxidil is more effective for men than 2 % minoxidil. If you found the 5 % to be effective and switch to the 2 %, you may experience some degree of loss.

Yes, you can swith your minoxidil strength at any time without much worry. If you should stop it however, you might get hair loss as minxodil is addicting to the hair
