This is not at all unusual and should heal well. for the time being allow water to run over your face in the shower and apply plain Vaseline after and be sure not to pick at it

Glycolic  acid peels on sensitive skin such as your hands is a bad idea. you need moisturizers not peeling agents.  At bedtime soak your hands in warm water and apply Vaseiline and then put on gloves and overnight your hands will be better

You should not be putting acid on your skin at home. You probably have a dermatologist since you have a prescription for Efudex so see him to get a proper treatment for whatever the problem is on your hands
