I don't recommend using 0.5 mm for scar treatment. chicken pox scars are more resistant to the usual treatment and they would require subcision along with PRP & microneedling with more depth (say 1.5-2mm). also, in some resistant, cases excision may be required.I would advise you to consult a dermatologist to know your best optionsAll the best Dr Jyoti Gupta

You do not need to worry about needling treatments in the presence of controlled diabetes. However, needling is a very weak modality - you should consider radiofrequency microneedling (e.g. Vivace, instead).
