Topicals have a minimal effect on deep lines. Smokers lines above the lips are difficult to treat. Retinols are helpful for most all skins as they increase cell turnover so you skin has more natural light reflection. Good skin care and balanced skin color can help pull the focus away from the smokers lines.Restoring some volume by means of self-collagen production via laser or microneedling is one way to "lift" the lines a little. Utilizing fillers to increase structural "bulk" is also helpful. In some instances very tiny amounts of Botox can lessen the dynamics that create and emphasize the lines when you speak (decide on that one with care). If you still smoke, anything you do will be limited in effect.Keep your skin well moisturized and stay hydrated with water. Use sunscreen.
Thanks for your question. If you have really deep, set-in smokers or vertical lip lines, it is not likely tretinoin will make much of a difference. If the lines are very tiny and superficial, they might improve a bit with years of consistent tretinoin use. I would see your dermatologist to see what other options there are. Lip lines can be improved with fillers, Botox, and procedures such as resurfacing lasers or microneedling in series. Please see an expert and best of luck!
Hello, without seeing your skin it's hard to determine if this will help you. Tretinoin is a great option for smoothing fine lines and improving overall texture of the skin. Filler would be a better option for deeper lines. You may want to consider doing both. You should go for an in person consultation so they can discuss what options would be best for your skin.
Tretinoin can help smooth out fine lines and wrinkles by prompting collagen production, but it cannot erase very deep lines. I would recommend consulting with your dermatologist to determine if there is a mix of Botox, filler, and non-invasive skin tightening procedures you would be best suited for.
Thank you for your question. Tretinoin cream works well for fine lines and unfortunately not as effective for deep wrinkles. In some cases, injectable fillers or neurotoxins is more effective for deeper wrinkles. I highly recommend you consult with a board certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon to have your skin evaluated and to discuss appropriate treatment options. Take care and good luck.
Hello and thanks for your question. For smokers lines that are deep skincare has limited benefit - although it may help it will not soften them significantly. My advice would be to go for skin resurfacing treatments such as micro needling (we use intracel which combines RF) and also resurfacing laser. Please always seek a qualified and experienced practitioner, Best wishes
