Hello, I am a 25 year old female with severely crowded teeth. My orthodontist recommended getting two teeth extracted from my upper jaw (# 5 & 12). However, I heard this can cause the jaw to shrink. I am worried about my side profile collapsing. Right now, to fully bite and close my teeth, my lower jaw goes back vs when I rest it is more forward (photos included). I worry about how my profile will look if my top teeth get pushed back, since right now they are holding my upper lip. Thank you.
