I had a root canal and crown placed 6 years ago. At my last checkup, my dentist said there is a cavity under the crown and that I will need an implant or bridge if crown is taken off. I do not have funds for it right now. Is it safe to keep the crown on? How long can I keep it? It will take me a while to save enough money for either bridge or transplant.

From the xray, it does look like the crown does not fit well. I would go back to the dentist who did it and tell themyou are having problems with the tooth and what the other dentist said and ask to have the crown redone(if you trust them to do a good job) or ask for a refund so that you...

I always cement my temporaries, if the prepared teeth are very parallel and the
temporary crowns fit well, I think you can get away without using cement. It
can be very difficult to remove a well fitting cemented temporary crown, in
such a case, cutting it off could be the only option....
It would appear that these are temporary crowns which is good but they should not be causing bleeding and pain . Please go back to the dentist and have him/her check them.The blister behind the tooth may be due to some excess material . The margins of the temporaries may need to be smoothed...
