Hi Baby Girl... A Dental Nerve Block is a technical term for dental anesthesia. The most commonly used anesthesia is Novocaine. I doubt that your headache is a result of the anesthesia, but is coming from anxiety before and during the dental procedure. Also sometimes you are in one position for a long time with your mouth open and this can trigger headaches. I do not think it has anything to do with the anesthesia.
The number one reason is it may not be the block but the anxiety and nervousness of going to the dentist that may be the trigger. When your teeth are numb you may also be clenching which can tighten jaw muscles and cause a headache... good luck Kevin Coughlin DMD, MBA, MAGD CEO Baystate Dental PC
