I'm 3 months post PRK and still have 20/40 vision. Is it likely to improve?

I had PRK a little over 3 months ago and I'm still only seeing about 20/40. Have an appt with my dr in a few days but what are the chances this will improve? I've been pretty stable at 20/40 since about 4 weeks post surgery. What would be the reason I didn't get to 20/20? I was about a -6.5 before so I had pretty poor vision to start with. I'm really upset and regretting this surgery.

It generally can take anywhere from three to six months for your eyes to fully heal after PRK.  It is too early to tell whether or not you need an enhancement.  I would recommend that you continue scheduled eye exams with your surgeon so that they can monitor your healing process.  However, if...

It is easy to identify if a patient has had PRK if a topography scan is taken of the eye.  However, it is not easily identified just by looking at the eye with a slit lamp microscope.
