I have two different opinions from teo orthodontists. I just want to see what other kinds of opinions are out there. Sorry for the x marks on the pictures.

The easiest way to fix your crooked teeth is with bicuspid extraction orthodontics. HOWEVER, much like life, the easiest way is not always the best way. Bicuspid extraction orthodontics is an antiquated treatment that will result in a narrow smile, mid-facial developmental deficiencies, loss of lip support, will likely make your nose look bigger and create a long narrow face, potentially cause airway obstruction and possible TMJ problems. Many patients receiving this type of treatment also report that it made them look older. There is a well-known study of two identical twins orthodontically treated, one with bicuspid extractions and the other with expansion. The results are striking with the twins barely looking like sisters after completion of the orthodontics, much less like identical twins. The bicuspid extraction sister by all measures is less attractive following orthodontics than her sister receiving expansion therapy.Your case can easily be treated without bicuspid extractions and I assure you that the results will be far superior than with bicuspid extraction treatment.Good luck!

Please avoid extraction of your bicuspids. This orthodontic technique has shown to cause TMJ problems.If your Orthodontist is suggesting the extractions, please seek another opinion and have your treatment done by someone who will not extract your teeth. Good luck in the future.
