Laser treatment during menstruation cycle?

While you still can get your laser hair removal done during your menstrual cycle, you may find that the treatment is more comfortable if you wait until after your cycle is over. A surge in hormones can increase the sensitivity of your skin. Please seek a board-certified dermatologist to see if you are an ideal candidate for the treatment.

Thanks for your question and as always we recommend that these procedures be done under the auspices of a board certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon. There should be no concerns here and you should be able to have your laser hair removal without any difficulty.

I am not aware of any contraindication to laser hair reduction during menses. Some women do experience more discomfort during this time due to hormonal fluctuations. If the area being treated is the bikini area, the clinic may prefer not to treat the area at this time.  There is no medical reason that it cannot be done.
