General knowledge question. Inheritence of DUPA? Would like to eventually get a hair transplant if possible.

DUPA is caused by a multiplex of genes. The exact inheritance pattern is unknown. Your hair loss started in the frontal and Crown area. This is  atypical for dupa as it usually begins in on the sides and occiput. Find a hair loss expert who can work with you on diagnosis and treatment. Finasteride, minoxidil, oral and topical, nutraceuticals, low level laser and PRP can help. We recommend the subdermal depot injection technique (Rapaport).

If you have DUPA, a hair transplant is not an option. You have a history of AGA in your family which will influence your DUPA patterns. Be sure to see an expert to confirm the diagnosis and rule out (exclude) other close mimickers. 

If the DUPA is classic and more than 50% of the hairs in the donor area are impacted, then at least 50% of any transplanted hairs will fail to grow making it a poor surgery for good results
