Some antibiotics increase sun sensitivity, which will increase the risk of sunburn. Diode, alexandrite and yag lasers work best for hair removal. I typically have patients do every 4 weeks for the first 3 times and then every 4-6 weeks for 3 times after. It will take a series of treatments and some people need treatments to maintain. Most antibiotics make the skin sensitive to heat which can cause a burn with a laser. Its best to be out of the sun 3-4 weeks prior to having laser hair removal.
Antibiotics like minocycline make you more sensitive to the sun. Having a laser hair removal treatment while on antibiotics can increase your chances of getting a burn.
