I would highly recommend you bond the tooth rather than file it down. If you file it down the tooth will be shorter than its counterpart next too it and be very noticeable. The bonding will keep the tooth length and even the edges so it would not be noticeable. Bonding is fairly fast and painless. The only drawback to bonding is it will have to be redone periodically and can chip off over time. However, it can be simply bonded again should/when this occurs.
