Are my front teeth crowns coming off?

If this helps at all, I have patients that have the same crowns on that I placed more than 10 years ago.  In fact, some dentists, like myself offer 10 year warranties on crowns to guarantee that they will not fall off or fail.  It is possible for your crowns to come off if the cement was defective or the bite is off, but it is very rare for this to happen.  I have placed thousands and thousands of crowns, and this has not been an issue.  Please don't worry too much.  Good luck and I hope this helps. What you're experiencing is very common.  We oftentimes call this DAS, or dental awareness syndrome.  Your front teeth are a very personal issue, as it affects your smile and face more than one would ever think.  Do crowns sometimes come off?  Yes, but "most" crowns will last years without loosening up.Much depends on how much tooth structure is there under the crowns, how the dentist shaped the tooth for the crown, how well it fit (a function of the impressions by your dentist and fit produced by the dental lab) and how it was cemented.  In addition, it will also depend on your habits.  What you bite into, for example.I suggest you try to put it out of your mind.Worse case scenario is that one comes off in several years, you get back to your dentist right away, and he recements it and you are on your way.
