From which age is it allowed to have an underbite surgery?

so i am sixteen and would love to ask can i have my underbite surgery when i am 16 or is there a must too wait untill you are 18-21 ? second question would be i want to know how many percetage is the the risk of the surgery , or do people actuallly die performing this surgery ?

In males surgery can be performed from 18 years of age, in females 16 years of age because the growth has then stopped.The main risk of surgery in the lower jaw in particular is numb or distorted sensation in in the lower lip or chin- permanent distorted sensation can be up to 40% in terms of it being permanent.Like any surgery there is always a very small risk of death under a general anaesthetic but i a fit healthy person death should be less than 1% chance as modern anaesthesia is very safe.

for women 17 is a good age to do surgery. it is very safe. numbness is the biggest concern but that usually comes back
