My skin type is 3/4. As a result of wrong IPL treatment(2mths ago) for my mild acne and scars, I ended up with worst scars and more break outs!(pls refer to my profile under IPL treatment in this website for more info).Currently I am on antibiotics(Keflex, previously tried minomycine), pills and Duac gel.Can I able to do Fraxel Restore(1550/1927) to rid of the new scars on my face? or is there any other options for me. The one thing that I always caution people about is the use of these new technologies which are just not proven over the long term. There is ultra sound that has been used in medical applications. But, as far as using ultra sound instead of a surgical facelift, I wouldn’t recommend it....
You should not use self tanner on areas where Fraxel has been done. It’s better to have no tan and to have as much contrast with the pigment as possible and a lot of self tanners contain chemicals that can irritate the skin.
If you or your doctor (an experienced dermatologist with laser experience) are not sure whether or not you would be a safe candidate for the laser treatment, a small 'test spot' can always be performed to see how you will heal before you have an entire area treated. Ideally, photos...
