Is it true that the Saint John’s reduces the effectiveness of finasteride?

hello doctors, Ive been on finasteride for the past 8 months and it has been working at decreasing hair loss. Ive been also recently prescribed a low dosage of Saint John’s Wort to deal with stress. Is it true that the Saint John’s reduces the effectiveness of finasteride? I would not like to risk the hair growth I have achieved . Thank you Eli

There is some evidence that St John’s wart reduces finasteride levels in the blood. These are based on a limited number of short duration studies.

Finasteride and St.John Wart do have a connection as described in the link below. It does seem to interfere with blood levels
