CO2 fractional laser, how quickly will the wounds close? I'm 1 day post op.

Hello. I have treated my inner arm scars with fractional CO2 laser and plan to continue with another doctor (she is living) and was wondering if you could tell me please how quicky the little wounds close after the treatment so an infection ( viruses etc) cannot get through. It has been 16 hours since my procedure and the skin does not react when I rub alcohol, is it closed and no viruses get through? Just huged someone with lots of pimples on arm and got worried about an infection. thank you

This is difficult to answer without pictures. I recommend following up with a cosmetic dermatologist for a formal evaluation and after care recommendations. I recommend skin care with vitamin c, b5 hydrator, silicone based scar gels with growth factors and enzymatic washes with papaya enzyme to give improvement. Sun protection is essential. Lasers like Co2 work best in combination with other treatments in order to improve the skin's texture and collagen. After Co2, I recommend adding fraxel lasers, microneedling/prp and radiofrequency treatments. Best, Dr. Emer
