Irreversible Scarring 18 Months After FUE Beard Restoration? (photos)

I started noticing redness, scaling, and folliculitis 11 months post op from an FUE beard restoration procedure. Its been 6 months since this outbreak. Only in sites where grafts were inserted. Dermatologists have been treating with topical steroids, but nothing seems to help. The new growth of the grafts seems to be irritating the epidermis. My thoughts are electrolysis or laser hair removal. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Unfortunately, there is no solution to restore an over-harvested donor area. The extracted grafts will not grow hair any more on the donor area. We can just recommend you to do micro-pigmentation to fill out the spots. Also, you are 1 month post-op, the healing is still in process. It is better...

This may be due to overharvesting.During an FUE procedure, the grafts should always be harvested in a random and homogeneous pattern with adequate spacing between harvest sites. As you mentioned there is scar tissue as with any other procedure. However, there are a number of things that can be done to minimize scarring such as placing grafts at the appropriate level (so they are not too high up or to low down).
