How Can You Fix Large Front Teeth? (photo)

Question

Ever since i was little i have been extremely emberassed of my smile. I cant smile in pictures, or in general. In front of people i try to avoid it in fear of being judged. They really bother me and im wondering if theres any way i can fix it? (Making front teeth shorter, braces?)

Hi...I think you have a great smile and lips! Your two upper front teeth are large and the laterals, or the teeth on either side, are very small and positioned inward. You have choices of lengthening the lateral top teeth which would add more symmetry to your smile. I would not reduce the size of the front teeth. Consult with more than one dentist. Listen to their options. I would go with the least invasive method first before you reduce enamel and size of teeth. You have beautiful teeth!

Your photo shows great lips and nice framing for a great smile. You have always blamed your two front teeth but I wonder how much of the central-dominance is because their neighbours don't show enough. Orthodontics is the preferred solution for a lifelong result! You won't regret it.

i personally dont see such a bad smile.but if i look carefully what i suggest you to do it's a digital smile design simulation to check the exact proportion of your centrals.if they are bigger tht 80% you might have to file just a tiny bit the incisal edge of them and make them even and symmetrical. but what i really suggest is to take in considerations the lateral that are slightly smaller.might try to do a wax up of them and a mock up in the mouth to see how u will look like if you lenght them and give them a bit more bulk shape....they seems to far inn.

Very difficult to see by the photograph but several options exist. From enameloplasty to orthdontics to gingival recontouring. It really depends on what makes you happy and what it takes to get there.
