In my opinion, there is a misconception that the use of ha fillers can be completely undone with the dissolving enzyme. This is not the case. Any injectable filler is a foreign body and some people form scar tissue around fillers that does not go away with hyaluronidase. Depending on your examination, dilute steroid injections may be considered for smoothing out the raised areas of your nasolabial folds. If this is not helpful, direct excision of the area tends to lead to a favorable result with minimal scarring and minimal downtime. I hope this is helpful! Sincerely, Dr Joseph
Sorry you are having this problem. It would be helpful to know exactly which filler was used, since not all (especially semi-permanent and permanent) fillers do not typically respond to hyaluronidase alone. For persistent filler-related nodules, bumps and lumps, i typically use with gratifying results an algorithm of varying combinations, concentrations and amounts of intralesionally injected anti-inflammatory agents and have good results even with nodules arising from the use of semipermanent and permanent fillers. You would be wise to make sure to consult an experienced, board certified cosmetic dermatologist. Best of luck.
Dear LylaLuna, The critical information that you have not provided here is the timeframe of all of your treatments. Your injector must not be a physician, or they would know that HA in and of itself does not cause scar tissue. I guess it's possible that multiple needle injuries could, but not...
I hope your injector is a Plastic surgeon or Dermatologist. The fact that someone offered to do a free Hyaluronidase injection is a good thing because the product itself is quite expensive. The choice is ultimately yours what you wish to do in the future. I hope this helps and good luck from New...
Hello I’m sorry that you are unhappy with your results. You can dissolve however it may deplete some of your own natural hyaluronic acid at the same time as denaturing the HA filler product. The good news is that 1ml is not a lot and over the course of 3-6 months that volume will deplete. I h...
Since you have had many lip augmentations over the last 20 years, you may be visualizing overcorrection and scarring of the white portion of your lower lip. If no one has tried a dilute steroid injection, in our experience, dilute triamcinolone acetonide injections may be helpful in dissolving...
I have used hyaluronidase for well over a decade with no problems in partially dissolving fillers, and still maintaining nice and symmetric results.
Hi, thank you for the question and photos. Lip filler may take multiple vials to dissolve, depending on the type of filler and how it was placed. Additionally, the tissue may not completely return to its "pre-filled" state as the lip tissue has stretched to accommodate the filler. If you are...
