Does a low dose of Naltrexone represent any increased photosensitivity or melasma risk?

I have been undertaking Diode laser hair removal on my face (PCOS hirsutism) and after an enforced break want to continue. My doctor has suggested trialling LDN for other concerns. Does LDN represent any increased photosensitivity or melasma risk - either for natural sunlight exposure OR laser hair removal and how long would I have to suspend it before and after a laser treatment if it might cause either of these issues? I have sensitive skin which burns in the sun easily.

In my opinion, low-dose naltrexone isn't a recognised photosensitising medicine, and I'm not aware of it increasing the risk of melasma, so most doctors wouldn't ask you to stop it before laser hair removal. The more important things for sensitive, easily burnt skin are avoiding a tan before sessions, using a daily broad-spectrum SPF, and having a patch test whenever you restart after a break or change any medication. Do let both your prescribing doctor and your laser practitioner know you've started it, and check the patient leaflet for any photosensitivity warning.
