Your problem is not an overly protrusive upper lip but rather a retruded lower jaw caused by upper front teeth that are tilted too far back. You do not need teeth extracted but you do need to have your upper front teeth torqued into proper position and then have your lower jaw brought forward. Bringing your lower jaw forward will require more than just braces but it can be accomplished with a simple appliance (or surgery if you prefer). Good luck!

Damon braces are just a minor variation on traditional braces.  The company that makes them charges a lot more for them, and to justify this extra cost they have hyped up the advantages of these braces!  No good research has shown that there is any significant difference between what regular braces and what damon braces can do!  And when it comes to overjet/overbite correction, the supposed advantages of damon do not even come into effect.I have no idea in your case if you need extractions...this is a decision that really has nothing to do with the type of braces you get.
