Why are my teeth matte/dull after braces removal?

I recently had upper braces, and my while my teeth feel smooth, they have lost their shine and look matte. I had lower braces years ago and did not have that issue. Is it possible that the orthodontist could damage the enamel when removing the bonding? Thank you!
