Hi, l'm 20 years old and I had my lower left 1st molar extracted about 8 years ago.Now 2nd molar and the two premolars have tilted to fill the space, what should I do? Could it be moving the molars to fill the space or to upright the 2nd molar and get an implant?

Answer: Ortho and possible implant Hi,Without having proper x-rays/photos it is hard to truly give you a proper treatment plan. However, typically if your teeth have tilted and shifted, you would want to first consider doing braces in order to put them back in the correct place. Then after that point, depending on available space - place an implant in the missing area. This would correct your bite so you're not hitting on your teeth in the wrong places and further damaging them! I would highly recommend finding a dentist in your area that can do a complete examination and set of x-rays to help guide you properly to getting your teeth back on track.

Answer: Missing first molar and implant the problem about tilted teeth is that you will sooner or later present problems on the gum and bone, pockets and cavities, now you are 20, but you will have a not occlusion with antagonist teeth,so your best solution is to have braces, and set everything on the perfect position, provably you will not have to set an implant, if the space can be filled with the roots of the remaining teeth, but you will improve the masticatory occlusion layout.
