Would Retin-A micro be good longterm for painful flushing subtype 1 rosacea?

Thanks for your question.  I would definitely discuss this question with your dermatologist who can make an in -person evaluation and recommendation.  Retin-a can be tricky in rosacea-prone skin, and can be more of an irritant than a benefit.  You would not want to make the redness more prominent if that is your primary problem.  Some folks with more papules and pustules of rosacea, that look more like traditional acne, do ok with retin-a, but it is not for everyone.  If the redness and vascularity is a big problem for you, ask your dermatologist about vascular laser treatment or IPL.  Best of luck!
