Is slight bruising normal after laser hair removal? (Photos)

I had laser hair removal done on my lower legs for the second time yesterday and it hurt really bad. The first time I had it done I didn't notice any results so it was turned up a bit more this time. Late yesterday I noticed what looks like some bruising developing. I'm just wondering if this is normal?

The discoloration on your legs is probably not bruising.  More likely the pigment in your skin, the melanin, has absorbed the energy from the laser and heated up becoming dark.  This heated melanin will flake off after about ten to fourteen days.  The underlying skin may be lighter after flaking but should improve over several months.
Prior to laser hair removal, you should avoid tanning for at least two weeks and any significant sun exposure for four days after a treatment.  These precautions should help you avoid further issues.
