Drilled hole on front tooth. How to fix it without breaking enamel down more than what already is broken? (Photo)

Question

I have a hole in between tooth 8 and 7, the hole was drilled by a dentist and its on the tooth #8. How can I cover up the hole without breaking down my enamel. A lot of what I found online states my tooth would need to be broken down every-time a new filling would be required. I'm also not interested in veneers. I'm looking for a solution that doesn't require "roughening" or scraping the tooth. As you can imagine I highly against breaking my front tooth as this would be a repeated process.

Hi, thanks for sending your question. It appears that there is a small cavity in the area of your concern. It would require the gentle removal of the cavity without damaging the healthy area of the tooth. Once the decay is removed, then a tooth color filling would takes its place. It can be done esthetically as well. All the best.

What you have in your front tooth looks like a cavity. If the dentist drilled it, I'm not sure why it wasn't filled in. Once you have a filling done for that tooth, it should last for a very long time. You shouldn't need to worry about having to fill it again as long as it is done correctly the first time. all that needs to be done is remove the decay. Once that's done it's filled and that's it! It's not a repeated process.
