6 months post rhinoplasty with an indent on tip - what can be causing this? (photo)

Hi I’ve had a septorhinoplasty 6 months ago, my main concern was the tip however it looks like the tip has gotten worse and has a weird dent in the middle. What can be causing this, is it likely to be swelling ?

Hi and welcome to our forum!
The procedure of rhinoplasty involves separation of the nasal cartilages from overlying and underlying tissues as it is trimmed and reshaped. The tissue trauma resulting from this "insult" is significant, resulting in swelling (which may be asymmetric) and firmness which may persist for a year or longer. The nasal tip is notorious for taking the longest to heal after rhinoplasty. This phenomenon will gradually subside. Some surgeons advocate the use of nasal tapes to control the swelling in the early postoperative period.
I recommend continued followup with your surgeon as you are a long way from being healed.
