I'm 2 weeks post lipo (hips, outter thighs, flanks, back)& bbl. I know I still have a lot of healing to do, but Im concerned about the asymmetry starting to take form on my R vs L sides. The curvature of my L side lower back/flank/hip area seems much more apparent & contoured than it does on my R. Also on my right side I have a back roll that is not apparent on my left. Im concerned this is asymmetrical due to uneven lipo contouring rather than a symmetrical healing that will correct itself
Answer: Post Liposuction Irregularities, Swelling -- Try Massage, Velashape or Venus Legacy With Your Compression I suggest post-operative radiofrequency, massage and hyperbaric for now. Give it time and if it is irregular in 3-6 months then a revision surgery can be done. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Post Op 2 Week Swelling Normal Hi Nichole1550,Thank you for your question and photos. Typically with my patients, they are at the peak of their swelling on day 10 to 12. The healing process may take up to 4-6 months depending on the patient and the areas. Patience is key during the healing process. If you are concerned with your results and progress it is important to contact your surgeon. It is difficult to assess without an in-person examination.Best wishes on your recovery.

Answer: Post liposuction asymmetry Since you are only 2 weeks following your liposuction procedure it is very hard to tell if there are any contour irregularities at this time. With liposuction, swelling can take weeks to settle out and your body to conform to its new shape. I would continue to follow your post-operative instructions and wait about 12 weeks for the swelling to subside which at that time you can re-evaluate the area(s) you are concerned with. Hope this helps!

Answer: Asymmetry post-lipo - normal or uneven lipo? Hello dear, thanks for your question and provided information as well.. This is the surgical procedure that revolutionized cosmetic surgery becoming one of the most performed cosmetic procedures. Subcutaneous tissue or fat is removed in order to contour the body in a way that is harmonious and pleasing to the senses. It can be performed in almost all regions of the body such as the neck, chin, abdomen, back, buttocks, thighs, arms and ankles. Usually done through a small incision in the skin through which a cannula connected to a vacuum is applied, it can be performed alone or in combination with other procedures. After liposuction your body is going to be really swollen for at least 2 to 4 months after your surgery. It is important for you to wear your compression garment for at least 6 months, the first 3 months 24/7 and then the last 3 months at least 12 hours per day for your body get use to not having the faja for so many time. When you remove it, your body can get swollen and also you can have pain. Remember to also compress your body to prevent a seroma which is an accumulation of liquid that has to be drained, it is hard to touch and also really painful. Bruises are completely normal for almost 3 months from surgery, that’s why is better for you to use a bruising cream and apply it all over your body 3 times a day. To prevent bad circulation and swollen legs, use compression socks. Brazilian butt lift can be performed with the same procedure and for a month it will be swollen and it will drop a little bit without losing it’s shape if you use your garment.. If you’re going to perform liposuction on your inner, outer, anterior, lateral, postetior thighs, be careful and consult with your surgeon what’s best for you, sometimes we have more extra skin than fat, that can cause severe sagginess on our legs, which can be only be reversed performing a thigh lift. Hugs!

Answer: Asymmetry I would recommend that when you have a follow-up at about three months have photos taken and compare them to the pre-op photos with your doctor. While you are not completely healed at 3 months, you should be able to have a good idea on your results. Most people have some degree of mild asymmetry, and in some it can be more dramatic due to things like mild scoliosis or hip tilts. If you need and revision I personally avoid reducing the same area for at least 8 months because I feel things need to soften. If an isolated area needs treatment sometimes Coolsculpting can be an easy option.
