I had 6 new upper front crowns placed at the same time and rather than adjusting the backs of the new crowns, my dentist ground down my lower front crowns. He actually removed the front finish and rounded the tops of several of my lower crowns, making some of them so thin that they appear dull like smoked glass and you can see a dark tint behind the porcelain. When I expressed my dismay, he assured me that this is common practice. I am so upset because my crowns are all rough, dull, & misshapen.
