My 2 yr old had a cut on his forehead 1 nd a half month back with glass on his forehead. The cut is vertical nd we got stiches from a plastic surgen. Now I am applying silicone sheets nd a scar removal gel. What should I do else. Should I go for fraxel or some other laser. Is this right age for laser

Fractional treatment will help, but likely not eliminate a vertical scar on the forehead. question. It is best to let the scar heal on its own and continue applying
topical scar removal gels and creams such as Mederma. This helps ease the
healing process. It’s also important to apply sunscreen on the scar every day, in
order to avoid discoloration of the scar, helping it fade back to normal skin
tone. Laser resurfacing treatments are always an option, but your best bet is
to wait until your son matures to see if any physical changes occur to the
scar. Once the scar is completely healed and you are still unhappy, you
certainly can have laser treatments to fade the scarring.

It's hard to answer this question without a picture but in general it is usually better to treat scars early with lases for best results. I usually recommend a pulsed dye laser for new scars to reduce redness and help minimize the scar appearance. A fractionated laser, like Fraxel, may also be added for improved collagen remodeling and faster scar reduction. Based on your child's young age I would recommend seeing a pediatric dermatologist with extensive laser experience. Good luck.
