This is most likely due to post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Skin lightening agents (e.g. hydroquinone) and Retina A are helpful in many. Im my patients this is used for at least 3 weeks prior to treatment and for several months after healing along with a strong sunscreen.

Hi Sallie.  Laser treatments do not thin the skin (at least the ones of today) so you would not have a problem with lasers causing thinning of the skin.  Whether or not you are a good candidate for laser procedures should be determined during a consultation with a qualified...

I have large brown spot on cheek and have rosacea in same area. Is there any treatment that will not affect my rosacea?
