I am 43 yr old with an anterior open bite, minor cross bite and some minor crowding issues. I had braces from age11-15 includ. a plate expander. I am a mouth breather with a tongue thrust. I am considering orthodontia for improvement in my smile & hopefully bite. Should I consider Invisalign or would a traditional bracing system such as the Damon Clear be a safer bet and quicker solution. (Not demanding a perfect smile, just a better one & maybe the ability to bite certain foods easier).

Once again a misleading and incorrect response to a question on orthodontic extractions forces me to put in my two cents worth.
Of course you need a much more thorough diagnosis before committing to extractions, but for Dr.Lockhart to state that "This is antiquated orthodontics that...
Google "air rotor stripping" for an alternative to extractions, and talk to your orthodontist to see if you are a candidate. I have found Invisalign to be quite effective in combination with IPR to recline flared out teeth, but it can be done with braces too.
