I mean I've only been to an orthodontist once but I didn't really get a clear answer in how it could Get fixed.(as you see i didn't get my braces)
Answer: Adult crossbite Hi! Thanks for posting your picture > it really helps to answer the question! From what I see, you have a full left side posterior cross bite from the canines to the molars. However, it is possible that this is primarily a dental and not a skeletal cross bite, making it much easier to fix. Adults have limited "easy" options when it comes to cross bite correction because the maxilla (i.e., top jaw) isn't malleable like it is in children. However, in your case the cross bite might be well corrected without invasive options. What I mean is braces or Invisalign alone might be all that is needed. I also see you have a moderate "overbite" and your upper and lower dental midlines are off with possible proclination of your incisors. Please see your local orthodontic specialist for a full consultation and exam. I'm confident you'll be happy with your options and with your ultimate result.

Answer: "How bad is my crossbite?" One photo makes it hard to answer your question....You definitely have a crossbite on your left side, but it's hard to see how far back it goes. Plus, it looks like you also have a midline discrepancy (upper dental midline vs. lower dental midline), which is not unusual with a posterior crossbite, and a bit of an overbite.A couple of thoughts come to mind... First, how long ago did you see an orthodontist? If it was when you were a kid, things may have changed since then (sometimes things get better and sometimes they get worse). Second, have you talked to your dentist about your situation? He or she can probably refer you to an orthodontic specialist for an evaluation (or you could go back to the first orthodontist for an updated reexamination - ask what your options are!). Go ahead and get several opinions if you'd like, but make sure you see doctors who are orthodontic specialists. Also, before you go, make sure you have a list of questions and concerns. Sometimes it becomes a bit overwhelming when you are talking to the orthodontist and you forget to get answers to things that are important to you.Good luck!

Answer: Crossbite options orthodontist Just from one photo it appears that you have a crossbite at the left canines area and you lower midline is not coincide with your upper midline. These can be fixed with any type of braces or Invisalign. The length of treatment time will depend on what treatment option you choose, and whether or not you want to use opitonal devices, e.g. Acceledent, to help reduce your treatment time. Your orthodontist is the one who can explain all these options to you, and recommend the best treatment option for your situation.
