What if I like my over bite and don't want to get rid of it but have crooked teeth would braces take away my over bite if I don't want them to?

Hi, crazymarvelchick! Thanks for your question. To answer, for the great majority of patients, an "overbite" is an esthetic concern. But, if in your case it isn't, please let your orthodontist know you'd be happy to align your teeth without correcting it. "Overbite" correction can be difficult in some cases, and complete correction can require quite a commitment. It is possible that leaving an overbite can expose you to some risk of joint (TMJ) discomfort, but science so far says that isn't likely. I wish you the best on your Smile Journey. Enjoy!
