Is a Maryland temporary bridge worth it, while dental implants heal?

I got my front crowns (8 & 9) replaced with dental implants by a periodontist early Jan of this year. The gum swelling finally went down enough to be able to wear the clear retainer with the original crowns kind of loosely place in it. The problem is I can’t wear the retainer without constantly gagging. I get the abutments placed March 29th, is it worth getting a temporary bridge until then? I’d have to go to different dentist for this as the dentist who did the implants doesn’t do crowns.
